To all players and parents or carers

The Wisewood Wizards Management Committee met on 25 March 2008, as required by our Constitution at the end of a financial year.
As a result of discussing financial circumstances and attendance figures, we have decided to stop the 5-6pm girls only session on Tuesdays. From Tuesday April 22, players will have a choice of attending the
• basic skills session for boys and girls between the ages of 8 and 16 between 6 and 7pm,
• OR both the basic AND further skills sessions between 6 and 8pm
We will be able within those sessions to separate players according to age, boy and girl, and size groups as necessary, as we have plenty of coaching staff who can work with smaller groups.
We will continue to offer a cheaper hourly rate for those who attend both hours. The rates will be, until the summer holiday in July:
£2.50 for one hour
£3.00 for two hours
In 2008-2009, those rates will have to rise; we have yet to decide by how much. We are very conscious that everybody is constantly facing rising bills in every area of life, and do not want to add to the problem! So, we also want to pilot a scheme offering those loyal players, dedicated to training week-in and week-out and playing in tournaments regularly a better deal for paying advance membership fees for Tuesday sessions, Sunday under-11 Sheffield CVL tournaments and the new under 14 Sheffield CVL Saturday tournaments at All Saints. Next week we will announce some package prices for those who want to pay membership fees in advance until the summer, in return for a saving, and we hope to carry this scheme on into 2008-2009.
Next dates to watch out for:
Tuesday 22 April: new Wisewood Wizards training timetable 6-7pm, or 6-8pm
Sunday 27 April: under-11 / juniors CVL tournament, All Saints
Saturday 10 May: under-14 / seniors CVL tournament, All Saints (don’t worry: Y10s will be able to play in these too!!)
Moving on up …
We are happy that several players have graduated from Wizards into the Sheffield City Academy set up, and into Sheffield Hatters and Sheffield Sharks Junior set-ups. Opportunities to trial for all of these will be posted on to our website as soon as we know the dates, and we will be featuring these players on the website in a ‘Hall of Fame’ academy soon.
