CVL 25TH FEBRUARY 2008 ALL SAINTS

The team for this competition were;

Connor, Liam, Bridie, George and 3 new faces Xavier, Troy and Gabriella.

Wizards 2    Harriers 12

George took the tip for the first game of this competition and with some strong offensive play from the Harriers the Wizards went behind.  Some good performances from the new team players and a basket from Bridie stopped a zero score.

Wizards 16   Hawks 6

After the first game the Wizards came out fighting against the Hawks.  Some very good defensive work from Troy & Gabriella and some big blocks from George showed the Hawks that we meant business.  On the other end of the court the Wizards went basket crazy, 1 from Xavier, 1 from Liam, 2 from George and 4 from Conner gave us the win. 

Wizards 2     Hornets 14

The Wizards were tired from the effort of the last game.  Again the Wizards were good on defence but the Hornets were too strong and came out of the game with a win.  A consolation basket from Xavier stopped another zero score.

Wizards 8   Raiders 10

The Wizards were again very strong on defence holding the raiders at bay. We matched them basket for basket with 4 from George.  The Raiders got a late basket to give them the win.

Wizards 12         Hornets 6

The Wizards faced the Hornets again and came out fighting they were passing the ball around a lot more than in previous games. Xavier’s speed helped him get a steal and also 1 basket.  Some good ground work on the court from Troy, Liam and connor helped the team take the lead. New girl Gabriella got 2 baskets George 2 and Liam 2 to give the Wizards the win

Well done to all players especially the new guys. All the training that you all put in is starting to show.
